IT Security Assessment Specialist

About the Role

Help strengthen the security of critical business and technology solutions. As an IT Security Assessment Specialist, you will contribute to technical vulnerability assessments across applications, APIs, operating systems, cloud services and supporting infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced security professionals, build practical expertise and help teams understand and address security risks.

What You Will Do

• Contribute to vulnerability assessments of applications, APIs, operating systems, cloud services and supporting infrastructure.
• Research technologies, review system information and prepare assessment plans and testing documentation.
• Perform assigned testing activities and capture clear observations, evidence and findings.
• Validate potential vulnerabilities, review scan results, identify false positives and flag items requiring deeper analysis.
• Prepare clear, concise assessment content that explains findings, risk context, supporting evidence and remediation considerations.
• Collaborate with implementation teams to clarify findings, track remediation and complete retesting where required.
• Maintain assessment templates, testing notes, knowledge articles and other team documentation.

What You Need to Succeed

You bring foundational knowledge, practical exposure or a strong demonstrated ability to learn in the following areas:

• Networking, operating systems and core security concepts.
• Web application, API and cloud security fundamentals.
• Vulnerability assessment tools and manual validation techniques.
• Secure development practices, common vulnerability types and remediation approaches.
• Technical research, evidence gathering and clear report writing.
• Ability to analyze technical information and communicate findings clearly and professionally.
• Curiosity, sound judgement and a commitment to continuous learning in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with security tools, vulnerability scanners, command-line tools, scripting languages or testing frameworks.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications, training, technical projects or hands-on experience.

Your Education and Experience

This position requires a university degree or college diploma in computer science, engineering, information security, information technology or a related discipline, and three years of related experience in information technology, cybersecurity, application development, infrastructure support, vulnerability management or security testing. We will also consider an equivalent combination of education and experience, including relevant academic, co-op, internship and project experience.

Language Requirement

The Bank's work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canada's official languages - English and French. Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve their second language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

• Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

Hybrid Work Model

The Bank offers work arrangements that provide employees with flexibility, enable high-performing teams, and support an excellent workplace culture. Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Bank's hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues. You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

Salaries: Typically range from $94,193 to $110,816 (job grade 16)

The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (3%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
