Personal Fitness Trainer (Part-time)

JOB SUMMARY

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department is responsible for building a healthy, inclusive and vibrant City, as well as ensuring that communities, residents and visitors have access to the recreation and cultural places, programs, events and services that allow them to experience all the benefits the City has to offer, and overseeing Buildings and Facilities Management for improved service delivery integration, ensuring the best possible client experience in City facilities.

You are responsible for instructing/conducting customized individual client or group weight fitness training sessions to meet clients' specific fitness needs, in accordance with corporate and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, standards and related legislation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Completion of Grade 12
• University degree would be an asset
• Minimum of 1 year of experience

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

• Personal Trainer certificate (e.g., CSEP-CPT, canfitpro or other recognized certification)
• Current Standard First Aid, CPR and/or AED certificates

KNOWLEDGE

• Corporate and Departmental policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
• Knowledge of nutrition and sport specific training
• City of Ottawa emergency response procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

• Knowledge base, skills and training necessary to lead personal training sessions for a various types of clients.

Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only OR Bilingual competencies. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.
