Course Description

Critical examination of the social, cultural, political, and economic information contexts experienced by minority and underserved populations in Canada and in the global society. The course examines barriers, enablers, and issues related to various forms of literacy, ethno-cultural practices, organizational structures, and user-centered knowledge and information preferences, with the goal of improving the information professional's cross-cultural skills and practices related to information access, service design, delivery, and evaluation.

Requirements

PH.D. or Master's degree in Information Studies or related discipline and ideally, with professional experience. Specialization or teaching experience in the subject matter is recommended.

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay.

These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.
