Course Description

Application and evaluation of theoretical principles of learning in practice; understanding of learners with exceptionalities: behavioural, communication, intellectual, physical or multiple; emphasis on Ministry legislation and implications of learning and assessment in diverse and inclusive classrooms; current trends of differentiated instruction in classroom situations.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in education;
  • Qualification in a field related to teaching in schools in Ontario;
  • Recent experience in teaching in a school or working in administration of a school board at the Primary Junior level;
  • Knowledge of the current Ontario Curriculum and of the Ethical Standards and Standards of Practice of the Ontario College of Teachers.

The University may consider experience or qualifications equivalent to those set out above.
